The full Ben Nevis climb is approximately 16 km and can take up to 10 hours, making it a challenging but rewarding adventure for walkers with good fitness. With expert mountain leaders, stunning views, and a supportive group atmosphere, this is one of the best ways to explore the Scottish Highlands.

    LOCATION

    Your guide will discuss timings and meeting point closer to departure date.

  • PERSONAL KIT TO BRING

    Footwear:

    • B1 lightweight summer walking boots

    Clothing:

    • Waterproof jacket and trousers

    • Base Layers – Thermal or moisture-wicking (avoid cotton)

    • Fleece – At least one; consider adding a fleece vest/gilet for extra warmth

    • Extra Layer – Pack an additional fleece or synthetic insulation layer in a waterproof bag

    Other Essentials:

    • Head torch + spare batteries

    • Food for the day

    • Rucksack (30–40 L)

    • Midge spray and net

    • Water (up to 2-3 Litres)

    Make sure everything is in a waterproof bag. This could even be a rubbish bag, rucksacks aren’t waterproof even with the covers.

    • Quality waterproofs (e.g. Gore-Tex or equivalent)

    • Gaiters (worn underneath waterproofs)

    • B2–B3 mountaineering boots

    • Warm hat

    • Gloves (minimum 2 spare pairs)

    • Winter walking socks

    • Large synthetic insulated jacket

    • Wicking base layers (top and bottoms)

    • Goggles (double clear lens recommended)

    • Head torch (with spare batteries)
